About WCHC

The Walker County Homeschool Cooperative (WCHC) was started as a way to encourage homeschooling parents to merge their collective skill-sets, providing a well-rounded, educational supplement for a growing number of homeschooling families.
As the word “cooperative” suggests, those involved in the WCHC are committed volunteers who work to enhance the educational experience of their own family, as well as other homeschooling families in the greater Walker County area.
In our Co-op, families select from a variety of classes with a myriad of academic topics and activities. While children learn in a safe, Christ-centered and family-oriented environment, each family’s representative takes-on a teaching or volunteer responsibility of some sort.
Homeschoolers of ALL ages are welcome to participate in the WCHC. We have worked diligently to develop more high school and middle school offerings to match the rich elementary school and Pre-K classes we have offered for several years. As classes and activities tend to be contingent on the volunteers available, we are not yet able to offer a consistent schedule of courses.
We welcome new members and truly value your participation. We recognize that many homeschoolers have different home learning styles, but we truly believe the homeschooling journey is one where families can be inspired by one another, cultivating a spirit of encouragement, giving to, and serving one another for the purpose of providing a quality, educational experience for our children.
