Early-Bird Registration has kicked-off for the 2013 THSC Southwest Convention & Family Conference. The conference is free to parents who are members of the Texas Home School Coalition (THSC). In fact, as a member of WCHC you receive a discount when joining the THSC.
If you have never attended the THSC Southwest Convention & Family Conference, you should really treat yourself.
As the website state: “The THSC Convention offers workshops designed to encourage and inspire new or experienced home school parents. A vast amount of curricula and home school helps and amenities are offered in the Exhibit Hall by experienced professionals available to provide needed input. Convention is a great weekend for families, complete with children’s and teen programming and many fun vacation add-ons. Located in the heart of The Woodlands, Texas, it is also ideal for a couple’s or mom’s weekend getaway with onsite lodging and a myriad of shopping and dining opportunities within walking distance.”
Keynote Speakers
This year’s Keynote Speakers are Ken Ham, Carol Barnier, John Erickson and Mark Hamby. The list of workshop speakers has not yet been released, but you can keep checking back on the speakers’ page to read who they are and what topics they will speak on in their workshops.
Registration
Registration began on January 14, 2013. For discounted rates through Early-Bird and Pre-Registration, check here. The earlier you register the more you will save for those who are not THSC members.
Please note that the Teen Staff Program, Special Buddies Program and Children’s and Preteen’s Programs are available on a first come, first served basis, and they sell out fast!
Been There, Done That, Going Back!
For those who have attended the THSC Southwest Convention & Family Conference before, you know there are countless nuggets, inspiration and ideas around every corner and in every workshop. I’ve written about our experience in 2011 and in 2012. Jeff and I plan to return this year with both girls in the Teen Staff Program.
Other members who have attended and might be able to offer recommendations are Cindy Hughes, Denise Winston, Tanya Blair and Wendy Young, to name a few.
Check it out, you won’t regret it.
