Summer is here and the 2011-2012 Co-op year has wrapped up! Enjoy your family vacations, mission trips, camps, and lazy summer days. Like Kaleb and Kolby, I am certainly looking forward to getting in a few good summer reads!

It’s hard to believe that Tuesday, May 15th is the last day of this year’s co-op classes! It has been an full year with an amazingly creative group of teachers, committed families, and inspiring students. Thanks to everyone who participated this year.
Please don’t forget that registration for the 2012-2013 year of co-op is still open. It will remain open through Friday, May 18th.
We will also have forms available at our last co-op meeting on Tuesday, May 15th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. For questions about registration, please feel free to email heather@walkercountyhomeschool.com.

About Parents for an American Heritage Girls Chapter (PAHG) – Huntsville, TX
WCHC Members and Teachers Robert and Christi Knight are in the process of starting a Huntsville chapter of American Heritage Girls. This is a scouting organization which focuses on teaching young girls the values of faith, service, and patriotism.
AHG’s mission statement is to “Build women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country.” This is a sister organization with the Boy Scouts of America. Please feel free to look at the American Heritage Girls website for additional information.
The local chapter is in the process of finding a charter organization. We need to gather data on the number of possible girls to participate. Please go to www.tinyurl.com/ahg-huntsville-tx and fill out the information request form to help us gather the needed data for the potential charter organization.

Nautilus Health Center is currently accepting registration for swim lessons. There are times for Home school swim lessons from 11:00 am -3:00 pm during the Early Session. This allows you to get a head start on swim lessons and with a 10% discount on the class fees for that session.
The dates are May 21-June 1.

The May Ladies Night Out will be here before we know it, so mark your calendar.
Ladies Night Out is a cherished time of food and fellowship with other Homeschooling Moms. This event is not closed to just WCHC members, so please feel free to invite other homeschooling moms, or even those who may want to know more about homeschooling.
The next Ladies Night Out will be on May 14th (Monday). Join us at Chili’s off I-45 at 7:00 pm. You can find their menu here. Not a member of the WCHC? New to the WCHC? This is a great time to come and get to know us through food and fellowship!
